On one hand, this is quite enjoyable, with an interesting premise and a world I'd like to learn more about. But on the other we are told so little about anything, barely anything is explained, why was her father's hair deemed too long thus dangerous when plenty of other characters have equally long or longer hair but are still alive and in some cases considered great and respectable? Why does cutting her hair immediately notify the authorities and deem her a traitor when other characters have clearly cut their hair for fringes?
The art style is so simplistic that the panels that show them using their magic are very hard to follow and you can't really understand what's happening.

Long-haired Nyneve lives in a dangerous world where witches' hair length is an indication of magical strength, but if your hair is too long, the local government murders you. She must figure out how to survive in a society that would rather burn her. I rather enjoyed this volume & look forward to reading more. The world building is excellent, and the art is lovely. I also appreciate non-binary and transgender visibility here.
