The hot girl and the hot nerd are not good for each other on paper only. Jolie and Mick couldn’t be more different but with him she was herself and with her he didn’t care about his big brains. They had a hot summer fling and after the summer they both went their separate ways. Then in the Fall, when they were both juniors at the same college they run into each other. They were both surprised to see each other. At first Jolie didn’t know how to act she was the rich girl that sometimes retreated to acting like a high schooler and he was completely driven with set goals and no time for distractions. At first he’s cold towards her but then he realizes a secret she’s hiding and needs his help. He voluntarily decided to tutor her and these two with time picked up where they left off from the summer. Their chemistry was off the charts but there was just little things here and there that caused problems from them. They needed time apart to think straight because at times things got heated and not the nicest things were said even amongst friends. As time passed these two realized they were each other’s soulmates and made things right. I love their epilogue because it shows their growth and it shows how two completely opposite people have the most amazing love story.

Note: An ARC was provided by the author.

Carrie Aarons serves up yet another romance that hits the spot! Nerdy Little Secret was every bit as entertaining as my past reads from this author, and I seriously liked the whole hot nerdy guy and popular rich girl story line, but that isn't all that this book is about. Mick Barrett and Jolie Kenner were interesting main characters and they may have had the whole opposites attract thing as a starting point, but I liked having those layers peeled away and seeing the truest versions of themselves and how they grew and developed as the story progressed. I seriously adored Mick, admittedly even more than I did Jolie, since I did have moments of frustration with her behavior, but she was still highly likable. These two had their struggles and challenges, and I appreciated that they had to work through all of that and get to their hard-fought HEA. Four stars for Nerdy Little Secret.

I loved this story so much. It had all the feels. It was incredibly sweet and I found myself swooning throughout the entire story. It was sexy and fun to read. I loved these characters and how different they were yet so perfect for eachother. I especially loved Mick. He was sweet and awkwardly charming and completely book boyfriend material. I love reading everything by Carrie Aarons and I am definitely looking forward to more from her.

A hotmess falls for the hot nerd. This is a great summer read that will give you all the hot feels!

Jolie is a complete mess. Rich, entitled and beautiful - yes, but her life has spun out of control to the point where she is on academic probation and had to serve community service. She is living a lie to keep up her image which is just one more thing to add to her ever growing dumpster fire. The one good thing she really has if Mick Barrett, the boy she met at summer camp where she began her community service, but unlike her feelings for him that she can't seem to stop, her lies for why she was there are just beginning.

Mick has been driven and working hard to achieve his goal to go to medical school for as long as he can remember. Going to summer camp was his one concession to his parents to actually stop and have fun. He had no idea he'd meet someone like Jolie or the feelings that would follow. However, the summer ended and he never thought he'd see her again, so when he begins a new college in the fall he's shocked to see her on campus, but that's not what stuns him the most, she basically treats him like he doesn't exist and after how close they were over the summer he gets a look at the real Jolie.

While Jolie is on probation she needs help getting back into college and Mick agrees to help tutor her much to his own astonishment considering her initial treatment of him. Jolie has a lot of apologizing to do, but it does come at a cost of him knowing part of her secret, so things do even out, sort of. While Mick holds the power to blow up her entire world, at his core he's a nice guy, so the chances of him doing so are small, but who likes giving anyone power, right?

While they both agree to keep things casual, nothing more should come of a relationship since Mick has a lot on his plate too, pushing himself to the brink of classes, an internship, tutoring Jolie, and keeping up with his father's illness (the reason he's entering the medical field) Mick runs thin. Anyone could break under the pressure, even the nicest guy in the world.

Two opposites who actually ground each other, complete each other, but they each have to figure out what’s more important as they face their future. Whether it's together or apart.

This was a grumpy-sunshine opposites attract romance between a rich party girl and an aspiring doctor. As usual with serious, nerdy MMCs I was a fan of the one here. The plot was very fast-paced and I would have liked more depth in place of what felt like endless sex scenes. The story had promise - I did enjoy the intertwining of grief and a HEA - but was let down by being just that bit too flimsy with both character development and plot.

Carrie always has the sweet but steamy stories. I just adore everything she writes! She didn’t disappoint with this one.

Gotta love a nerdy guy getting the popular girl. But there was something about Mick that was more than just a nerdy guy. And really I didn’t think of him as a nerd, just a really smart guy with goals that he was dead set to accomplish. But he was expecting his summer random fling to show up at his school.

Jolie is your typical rich popular girl. She is an only child and gets whatever she wants and gets outta everything with the help of daddy. But she surprised me. She is so much more than all of that. I was worried she was gonna be snotty and a brat but I was genuinely happy with how Jolie turned out.

Getting these two together as odd as it seems just worked out. I loved how they both brought out different sides to each other. Overall this one was super sweet and a lovely storyline.

#TeamMilie

I have to tell you that at first I hated Jolie and not because I was jealous of Mick's prowess. (Though, let's be honest, who doesn't love a hot nerd who knows exactly how to move and... well, you know!)

I genuinely am not a fan of fake people. Jolie gave that vibe and then some. However, before you pick up your pitchforks and judge me, that was before Jolie grew up. Watching her transform from cardboard cut out of a college party girl to being a 3D person was worth it. I am totally #Milie fan. They balance each other out in a way that's inspiring and heartwarming.

Nerdy Little Secret is hot, fun, and full of feels. Enjoy the exhibitionist streak and the lab coat but smile knowing you get your HEA.
