A year of short stories for each month starting in January after Emma has returned to her family, but Jack is still involved with the family. Dottie has passed away, so Emma's family is all Jack has and thankfully they have welcomed him with open arms. He is definitely aged and this book follows the family as they prepare to say goodbye to him.

As per usual with the Emma books, I cried during the entire book! I loved having stories from each month to take a peek into the family, but the "cliffhanger"ish ending of each month was great! I found out after reading that these were short stories released to Steena's fans that she compiled and put into this novella - I am so glad, I loved it!

If you haven't started this series, start at the beginning and definitely read this one.

I don’t know why it took me so long to read this last book in the series but I remembered enough of the other books to follow along this short ending. But who knew such a short book could make me cry like that!

This was such a sad read. I am glad to see the family doing better and adapting. It was nice to see even Megan finally warm up to Jack so much. I don't remember the mem living together though but it had been awhile since the last time I read that part in the time-line. One thing I didn't like however was the time jumping forward so erratically. We never do get to find out out how Emma feels about a new sibling which also bothered me. Yet overall this book was a strange mixture of warmth and tears.

I just finished reading this, the last book in this series, and I barely made it through that last chapter. I couldn't breath past the lump in my throat, and I couldn't see through the tears flowing from my eyes. I loved Jack from the beginning of this series, so having to say goodbye to him was hard, and it made it harder that it reminded me of losing my own Papa.
VERY well done, Steena Holmes. I look forward to reading more of your books soon!
