This was a touching tribute to Gabriel García Márquez and his wife, Mercedes Barcha, from their son about their final days. With short chapters, it's a very quick read, and I read it in one sitting. A lot of short stories are told as the author reminisces on his time with his father, and what it was like growing up the child of a famous author.
There was some detachment from the author though; he doesn't really delve deep into his emotions or anything. It was very straightforward, no tears shed. I think it was very well-written and an interesting read, but it didn't quite carry the emotional punch that I was expecting.
If you're trying to reach your reading goal before the end of the year, this would be a good pick. The text itself is barely over a hundred pages, and pages of photos at the end make it special.
