This book was pretty middle of the road. The tropes are a little played out- haunting vs. mental illness, etc. It is short, so an easy and quick Halloween read. I’d recommend this to anyone who is looking for a spooky book that isn’t too graphic or violent.

This is probably more a 3.85 but I guess I’m rounding up! The book was weird and confusing and honestly I think warrants a reread in the future for me to fully gather my thoughts on it. However it was definitely interesting and though I wasn’t exactly wondering if anyone was really possessed, it kept me guessing about a different aspect of the book. 

The only thing I didn’t like was the blog posts though. I hated how they were written and I ended up skimming through some paragraphs when they got too long, though maybe I’ll appreciate it on a reread.

It tries a little too hard to Do a Thing™ with the narrative, ultimately becoming a narrative about narrative that manipulates its narrative for the sake of the narrative... but that doesn't stop it from being brilliant, scathing, and, finally, heartbreaking.
