As usual, Sandow Birk's artwork is compelling, memorable and thought-provoking. This time, however, he's got (an adaptation of) Dante Alighieri's text to fall back on, instead of his own attempts at writing -- which definitely makes this a better "read" that his other books.

never gets old.. once of the few books I've found to be a whole new experience each time I re-read it.

Interesting read, I enjoyed thenniges to help me with references that I didn't know or clarify ones I barely knew.
As a book that has influenced me and my thoughts without me completely aware of how much I did and didn't know if the story. It was an eye opener. Definitely a read at least once in the lifetime book. Although I'm not sure if I'll read the other two....

I wanted to re-read this, since the last time I had read it was when I started high school. I think the version I read then was perhaps more prose-focused? This time I read a more poem-forward version and it was just okay. I still like the concept, and it's interesting to see how he lays it out and who he includes, but it wasn't as enjoyable as I had recalled it being.
