This would be a good book to use with children who have a parent with bipolar disorder. The story follows a young girl living with her mum who has Bipolar. She describes the ups and the downs and how she gets help and copes. At the end of the book there is a range of questions and answers about Bipolar and living with somebody with the condition. This could be helpful to ready with children who have a similar experience to the girl in the story and could help them feel less alone and see some ways she copes and helps her mum.

A fantastic book about a mum with bipolar disorder told from the perspective of her daughter. It helped me understand the disorder a lot more and I think it would be a great book for children of all ages. I love the metaphor of the mother being like a rollercoaster because her condition goes ‘up and down’ with good and bad days. It's very powerful and a great handling of a challenging topic.
