Gosh, I'm loving this series. The pacing feels great in terms of both the individual books and the overarching series. I can't wait to keep reading.

I really enjoyed the fourth instalment of the Dales Detective series, although I felt it lacked the depth and gripping storyline of the previous books. However, while the main plot may be a bit more on the silly side compared to its predecessors, it adds a refreshing lightness to the narrative.

The setting in Yorkshire continues to be a character of its own, with vivid descriptions that transport you to the picturesque landscapes. The characters, familiar from the earlier books, are as endearing as ever, and their interactions bring a warm familiarity to the story.

What sets this installment apart is its departure from the more serious tone of the preceding books. The main plot may not delve into deep, intricate murder mysteries, but it offers a lighthearted and enjoyable reading experience. It's the kind of book you can breeze through, perfect for a cosy weekend read.

Overall, a charming addition to the series that balances the cosy atmosphere of Yorkshire with a touch of whimsy.
