Spoileri hated the ending, why did both of them have to die? they were so perfect until Achilles started acting not like himself and then Patroclus literally sacrificed himself for Achilles. i liked how thetis added Patroclus’ name on the statue to be with Achilles in the underworld

I anticipated heartbreak and tears going into this because of the reviews and general convo. I felt kinda separated from the story for a while so I thought I was safe but the last 20 or so pages hit me like a fkn truck. WATERWORKS FR

Achilles'i neden Aşil diye değil de Akhilleus diye çevirdiniz? Neyse. Beklediğimden çok daha iyiydi. Uzun zamandır okuduğum en akıcı kitaplardan. Patroklos'a ve onun biraz sakar kişiliğine bayıldım.

Such a beautiful read. Surprisingly, I didn’t like it quite as much as Circe, but only marginally so. I found that the plot slowed down a little in the middle, during the beginning of the Trojan war. Naturally, the romance between Achilles and Patroclus is just perfect, beautiful and heart wrenching.
Spoiler I thought that the choice to continue Patroclus’ narration even after he was killed was GENIUS and led to great moments and a great ending
I really enjoyed the plot, writing (obvi) and the characters. The ending did make me teary eyed and is definitely a top tier ending for me.

I could never write an articulate enough review for this book. Simply put, it was so beautiful. Touched my heart in a way no other book has. Madeline Miller is a poet of the modern age. The intention with which this was crafted is so apparent. Perfect for anyone who loves ancient history, especially history done right.
