i hated the ending, why did both of them have to die? they were so perfect until Achilles started acting not like himself and then Patroclus literally sacrificed himself for Achilles. i liked how thetis added Patroclus’ name on the statue to be with Achilles in the underworldGraphic: Death, Grief, and Violence

Moderate: Death and Murder

Once they reach war, there are mentions of how they treat female slaves that are stolen during raids, which is accurate to the time but can be hard to read. Not detailed, mostly just commented at.aisabel's review against another edition

implementing heteronormativity into queer relationship. Patroclus's personality was entirely twisted for the sake of anti-military philosophy, which made his relationship with Achilles look invalid. Originally, Patroclus was his close friend and comrade, he, of all other boys, had the guts to rival with the greatest warrior, which made Achilles respect him and contributed to their special bond. Instead, Patroclus whines and cries and begs throughout the whole book (his whole life, really), and it gets progressively worse as he waits for Achilles and is eventually compared to his wife. Even his role as a healer is represented less than him hanging out with slave women.I was honestly really hurt for him being portrayed like that.Graphic: Murder and War
