A pretty interesting quick read, with some nice little shocks and a great bridge between novels. Cross can't do a lot after the last book and we know he's on trial in the next, so his doctor work is what's best and it's always enjoyable reading that.

1! Though the plot of this story was interesting...it was WWWAAAYYYY political and this story is soooo overdone! I don't even think a longer version of this book would have made it good! Cross working a case with the cops while on suspension and awaiting trial...Silly!!!

These Book Shots are intended to be quick reads and suffer a bit because of it. The character development is minimal, the plot feels rushed (because it is), and it was a bit heavy-handed with its social criticism. That being said, it was still a fairly entertaining way to spend a couple hours - light, fast-paced, and engaging.

Meh. I don't know. This series just hasn't been hitting it for me as of late. It makes me very hesitant to pick up the next book in the series.

Just too short and kind of pointless, yet still part of the continuity of the Alex Cross story so it's annoying.

My library recently got many of these little Patterson novellas. I picked this one up, not expecting a whole lot because of the length, but I've read him before in the past and enjoyed it. I've also read him before and did not enjoy it. I'm not a huge fan of novellas, but as far as they go, this was decent. Not enough time for good character development and not really enough time to build a lot of suspense, but just enough to make a decent read. And that's all it is - a decent read. Great if you only have a little bit of time or if you just need something quick as a break from other stuff. I'll likely pick these up from time to time when I see them and need something short, but I won't go seeking them out.

I inherited this book from someone who did a cover buy without realizing it was written in Spanish. Nothing on front to indicate this on the front cover. Oops.
