Another great relational adventure into young womanhood for Jessica Darling. I really loved the journey Jessica took in this book and while I sometimes got bogged down by slightly verbose expositions (see what I did there?) on situations that didn't really come up again, but that verbosity IS Jessica Darling and those situations led her some of her conclusions, fluid as they may be, about life.

i love jessica darling's voice...reminds me of the gilmore girls' banter. still loving this series! (although caution...she's got a potty mouth, and there's a lot of sex. not for the younger "young adult" crowd, probably!) ;)

not as beloved as the first two in the series (i can't stand it when marcus flutie is out of sight). neither, really, can jess: i forgot how deeply unhappy she is for almost the entire book. i usually think of college as a place where people become more themselves, but at columbia jess loses so much of what is important to her: her relationships with marcus & hope, her writing, her sense of true friendship with anyone. i find that strange. i still love jess' voice though, and felt palpable relief when marcus appeared on her doorstep yet again...

This one is really only so-so. Jessica can be terribly unpleasant, but entertaining enough. I feel like I read these for glimpses of Marcus and this book was stingy with them.
