I wasn't prepared for such work, I didn't know that it would be like this. Gamble, compared to many poets of another time, has brought a new element into the mix, a kind of play, a contemporary lyricism that I am just digging. Looking for something not too poetry-ish, something new, fin, something you can just get, look no further.

Love the assertive voice in so many of these poems, it gives a certainty to the uncertain.

These poems are intense and pathological, but also playful. They have a great attentiveness to the world and to human behavior. I liked this a lot and will definitely be keeping it around to reread.
