I liked where this series was going with the first book, but overall I was a bit underwhelmed by the second. I loved the main character Dami and her three guys but I think her relationship with them and her knowledge of their world could have had more time to develop. I wanted to know more about their past and abilities. We also learned a bit about what Dami was but when it seemed like she should have had a lot more questions about it, she didn’t. It just never really came up again. The plot felt rushed as they hunted for the witch killing charmed ones. There was so much potential with such a great premise and characters, just felt too rushed and underdeveloped.

I was absolutely surprised by who the person was who was killing all the monsters. I didn’t think it would be a person who was known by Damiana even who she has met a lot of monsters to be fed their sins. Her mates are absolutely adorable about how they were protective and possessive over her. It was a wonderful HEA.

Some Kind of Monster by Albany Walker was a perfect conclusion to this little duet. Filled with the snark, humor, and dark vibe just like Book 1, this story gave us some laugh out loud moments, sexy times, a bit of angst, an amazing twist I ended up LOVING, and a conclusion that left me happy and content with Dami, Gunnar, Calix, Grim and their friends/family.

While this book didn't WOW me like Book 1 (because I wasn't prepared), I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dami is amazing. She was so no-nonsense in everything. Possessive, sweet, humble, vulnerable. She stood up for herself and others. And the guys were just as awesome. Each one with little quirks and mannerisms. Their dynamics were so fun! And how they interacted with Dami was both reverence and protectiveness.

The plot did seem to take a back road to the romance, but I still liked it because I was invested in this RH. SO glad I finally read this set.

Holy heck y'all... I've been waiting for this book and boy. It didn't disappoint!
I loved getting to see Dami with her guys again!
Albany is ALWAYS an amazing author, but the way she writes these characters... it compares to no other.

I listened to this on audible and enjoyed every second. I loved these books and the great dynamic with her harem.

Well, this book was a big letdown for me. It really had a lot of great aspects, that literally ended up going nowhere. There were still quite a few grammatical errors like the first book, and most other aspects were predictable. To be honest, for me, the only redeemable aspects of this book was that the spice was good, and getting more of Grim.

First off, all the buildup for this villain, and we still never got a good reason for his motivations, the big "battle" was very anticlimactic, and finding out who the villain was just brought on more questions than answers.

Also, again, several things were brought up again and then nothing ended up going anywhere with them. More talk of Dami's parents, which we got no answers. A lot of things with the wolves got talked about and mentioned and then never brought up again (the Don and Tammy thing, Kim had a very anticlimactic exit, and I wish there was more with Torin).

I'm not a huge fan of pregnancy tropes. I don't mind them in epilogues, but when they're added into the plot in the middle of a book, it also seems to be more for shock value than actually adding to the plot. First off, it was entirely predictable. Second, we barely got to see any development with the relationships when it came to the aspect of the pregnancy. The guys were of course 100% on board and ok with it, but we never got to see any of the growth that happens during a pregnancy. The first ultrasounds, talking about the logistics of things, fears, Dami was so terrified when she found out but then was magically just fine the rest of the pregnancy. I feel like the pregnancy just added nothing to the plot except, yeah, they're having a baby.

Oh and the whole being a daughter of Lilith thing! Like completely breezed over! No explanation of what that meant, also it was mentioned that she "chose to come back" this way. What does that mean? And Grim knew her as Lilith but only became her guardian and mate after she came back in a different form? And why did she come back to a different form? So many questions and literally no explanation!

I did not enjoy this book as much as the first. Again, so much potential, but no pay off.
