Jay Bell delivers again! Always such beautiful characters and I love the intertwining stories. Sometime it can be fun not to go back to the old books and you forget how some things happen. Other time, it's fun to read both scenes at the same time from different points of view. It's amazing how he can get so inside the head of very different characters. The little touches of originality always surprise and delight. This one didn't make me cry, but that's a good thing because some his books are really heart-wrenching.

What i like most about these books is how much i actually learn from them like there is so so so so much i learned about life and relationships and love and true love and just the complications the people the souls the stories and I'm amazed literally I'm bewildered by Jay Bell and the stories he tells and just how does one manage to be such a good storyteller i don't knoe but yeah this was another wonderful frckin experience i am utterly in love with Nathaniel and honestly who wouldn't be and Kelly is a queen honestly he slays and i love how imperfect he is and i love that he's not my favourite person ever but at the same time i am so immensely proud of him for who he is and who he has become

This book was fine - I think Bell can write well, and I always kind of relax into reading his books, but the schtick of repeating the same story from different viewpoints is already old. It's not too close, though, and it does provide a sequel hook. So maybe I should finally try the next one in the series?

i wasn’t the biggest fan of kelly’s character in something like spring, so i was a little wary about reading this at first but once i started it, i couldn’t put it down. it really made me see him in a new light and now he’s probably one of my favorite characters from the entire series. the book felt a little rushed towards the end, especially when it came to kelly and nathaniel’s romantic relationship, but i still really enjoyed reading it.

It’s wonderful going into each new instalment of this series and seeing it through new eyes. This time Kelly took the reins. Previously a side character, and one in the way at that I’m finding myself amazed at how one person’s viewpoint of others can skew your own opinions so much. No longer an obstacle to sneak around, Kelly’s own tale had me enthralled.

one of my favorites in the second cycle of stories. Really rounds out Kelly's character and leads right into Thunder.

It is interesting to watch Jay Bell deal with a relationship that most of us had already made up our minds about in the last book of the Seasons set. He makes a good fist of it, and we get to learn a lot more about Kelly and William. Unfortunately, we don't like Kelly much more at the end of this story than we did before. The essential plot weakness is the moment near the end of the story when Kelly is suddenly and unwillingly given time to grow up and confront his own nature. While the story demands it, the reason it happens just does not come across as credible. It was too much of a 90 degree turn for me. Nevertheless, there are enough good, solid moments in this book to earn it 4 stars. Jay Bell is easily the best author in this difficult field at the moment, creating genuinely likeable characters that tug at our heartstrings, make us smile, invite us to care and then stay in our memories. Marcello is a unique piece of comic genius who deserves a series all of his own.
