I only had to read one story in this compilation. I've read all the other ones in a different form.

Twenty short stories featuring Agatha Christie's Miss Marple. The first thirteen are the original short stories that Miss Marple appeared in before the series of books. The other seven are slightly later short stories. It's a mixed bag (I have given each story an individual rating) where some are rather easy to work out & a little disappointing, but the majority (about two thirds) are rather good, they seem complicated but have some deceptively simple answers that make you think "Of course!" at the reveal.

The Tuesday Night Club 3*
The Idol House of Astarte 4*
Ingots of Gold 4*
The Bloodstained Pavement 5*
Motive V Opportunity 4*
The Thumb Mark of St Peter 4*
The Blue Geranium 3*
The Companion 4*
The Four Suspects 4*
A Christmas Tragedy 5*
The Herb of Death 3*
The Affair at the Bungalow 3*
Death by Drowning 3*
Miss Marple Tells A Story 3*
Strange Jest 4*
The Case of the Perfect Maid 3*
The Case of the Caretaker 3*
Tape-Measure Murder 4*
Greenshaw's Folly 4*
Sanctuary 4*

I rather enjoyed reading these but they left me feeling a bit dissatisfied as they were all very short so you had no sooner started getting into the story than it finished. I'm looking forward to getting around to finally reading the series of longer novels. Overall rating: 4 stars

TWs:  certain attitudes & prejudices that reflect the time in which it was written.

Twenty short stories all featuring my favorite Christie character, Miss Jane Marple. This book is perfect to pick up any time and reminds me of an expensive box of assorted chocolates--each story is different from the others and each is totally delicious.
