1. Stockholm Syndrome should NEVER be romanticized like it was in this book
2. WTF was that unintentional pregnancy trapping
3. The writing is just repetitive and god awful
4. It is, in fact, not that serious to warrant 4 books/700+ pages
5. I literally just wasted multiple days of my life to read this book

Last "book" was very very dull. Miscommunication trope situations.

Test was quite enjoyable.

It was a good story, it just seemed like there was a lot of repetition of their feelings that was unnecessary.

3.5 ⭐️it was good but dragged in spots. I also wouldn’t call this a beauty and the beast retelling… more like Joker and Harley Quinn.

Book 1 - 3 stars (would happily recommend)
Book 2 - 3 stars (would happily recommend)
Book 3 - 1 star (wish I dnf it)
Book 4 - 1 star (wish I dnf it)

As a whole -2 star

Okay so now that we all know what my star system is and all that we can get into the review.

I am so disappointed, I was so excited to finally get a W Winters book. I’ve only hear great things about her and her books and I see her all over social media. This book is a dark romance. I know that. Doesn’t mean I can’t acknowledge the wild falling for her capture. Like this had all the red flags.

The writing in book 1 was engaging and amazing. I liked the characters and how things were being set up.

In book two as we near the end it feels like the writing dissolved a bit. The story starts to drag on and on.

Book three is here for a reason but the reason is not to wrap up the story. Oh no. We’re going to hear about how she loves and hates him and how he knows she can’t really love him cause he’s a beast for yet another entire book. Just in case the first two weren’t enough.

Book four? Oh is this where we get a conclusion? Cause that didn’t happen. No. We leave on a chapter where the brother of the MMC borderline sexually assaults a random lady. If we had just learned whether or not the lines were clear or even got a hot sex scene or something other than “I promise” at the end of the book maybe I would feel different. Cause at this point I don’t trust anything they say to each other cause their actions are sooo different than their words.

It was just an overall disappointing. I’ll probably try a different W Winters book but it’ll be awhile.

Now.. I ate this shit up. There were many plot twists. Although.. I do feel as though there were some parts of this dragged out when it shouldn't have been... but I can see why everything built up the way it did. I did feel as though the ending was rushed...

And secretly, I wish she had shot the gun herself that put the bullet in her father's chest.
