Bella and Lancelot brought it home. Quick, fun read.

Sometimes you read a book that has all they ingredients that makes for an enjoyable story and it doesn't work.
I should have enjoyed this but it didn't click with me.
And that's why I'm refraining from rating it.

While reading these I love them but once I put them down I start to think about the fact that nothing has changed since the first one and that annoys me

Somehow I skipped this book thinking it was the other other Evanovich series. Like comfy shoes, you slip into a Plum novel and know donuts will be eaten, sexual tension will be high, cars will explode.

I have read every Plum book, some more than once. The last few of this universe fall short for me. Maybe Steph has just gotten better at bounty hunting, but it seems even the characters are bored with the explosions and the same charming local references, product placements, and dusty romance line.
I need an ultimatum or a shake-up, not the same will they won't they, allusions to marriage that never gets discussed. Remember when Ranger and Steph were fake married and Joe had passionate emotions? Or the FTAs took more than a second to catch?
12 and 17 were the peak of this series.

Oh Stephanie Plum! It’s never a boring day with her, Lula and Grandma Mazur looking for bad guys! Throw in a bit of Grandma Bella and of course Moralelli and Ranger for a bit of hot and steamy excitement! This time around, Connie’s missing and not sure who has her… of course in the midst of searching for her, Stephanie runs into a handful of various troublemakers! And it wouldn’t be a Stephanie Plum book with at least one car blown up! Janet doesn’t disappoint in this latest chapter of Stephanie Plum!

Nothing new here ( plenty of exploding cars, Rex, Joe and Ranger, funeral viewings, Grandma and Bella with the stink eye and naked men that have skipped bail) but still manages to be entertaining.
