As happens with all short story collections, these stories vary in their ability to hold my interest and make me fall in love with them. To complicate it further, some of them turned out to be essays, or reflective journal entries about people or experiences in his life, though they weren’t labeled as such. I wasn’t always sure, then, that something was actually fiction. Some had such heart, and were all that I hope for from his writing. The final “story” was a poem dedicated to all of the librarians, teachers, etc. who bring words to those who need them. And wow....that blew me away. I felt seen, and loved, for working so hard to see, and love, the young people I work with. I am so grateful for that poem.

There's nothing specific about this short story collection that I didn't like but there also wasn't anything that posively stood out to me.

This book's target audience seems to be gay men because almost all of the stories are about them. Even though I usually like stories about queer people in general, I didn't really connect to any of the characters.

If I had to pick a favourite story it would probably be "Day 2934 (An Every Day Story)" or "The Vulnerable Hours" but even those didn't fully grab my attention.

I'm sure that someone will love this book, it was just very underwhelming to me personally.

I really enjoyed some stories however there were some that I did not enjoy enough to give my rating of this book a 4.

Some of this I liked more than other parts. I particularly liked the opening story
