4 Stars. This one was different from what I have come to expect from Connelly. Actually , kind of a different book than anything I have read. Original. Good. I find myself wondering if there will ever be more of Cassidy Black. I’m not aware that Connelly ever writes more about her. I’d read it though.

A little too outdated for my taste and just couldn’t get into it.

This wasn’t my favourite Connelly book but did have some good twists at the end.
It’s an interesting perspective compared to his other books - told from the point of view of the one committing crimes rather than solving them, tho you could argue the secondary POV is an investigative one, albeit with darker motives.
I had a lot of empathy for Cassie and her situation, but ultimately found that the logic that sent her on her course was highly flawed. I think things ultimately played out as well as they could since one can infer they won’t go according to plan.
Rather than twists throughout, the big twists come at the end and don’t affect the plot as much as one would expect. They’re still not overly predictable, but they’re not the most jaw dropping I’ve seen.
Ultimately, even tho it’s well done I just didnt feel as enraptured by it as I have his other novels.

This was my very last Connelly book. :( I've now read them all. This was a great stand alone book. A bit far fetched, but a great story none the less. Kind of left me hanging at the end, which I'm not a huge fan of, but still enjoyed this book a lot. Also, I'm not sure why this book says Harry Bosch universe #12, there is no Bosch in this book at all.

I had this book for ages. Picked it up from Borders Book Store before they went out of business. Probably set on my shelf for over ten years. I should have read it a long time ago. Very well written and unique story. Fast paced and told like only Michael Connelly can. Excellent!
