some nights you are the lighthouse / some nights the sea / what this means is that I don't know / desire other than the need / to be shattered & rebuilt / the mind forgetting / the body's crime of living

Night Sky With Exit Wounds uses simple language, really, but it comes off as pretty wordy to me. Additionally, the format for most of the poems is quite unusual. The author, Ocean Vuong, is such a complex being full of tragic experiences and grief. Thus, I do not think I am at a level where I can fully appreciate this literary piece of art, but I absolutely want to reread this collection someday.
