This book will make you ugly cry.
It's beautiful, sweet, makes you think about the way you treat others and provokes thoughts of a controversial topic within yourself.
The only issue I had with it was the switching of POVs. There were a few chapters that were not in Lou's POV, and felt out of place. And that is the reason for the 4 stars. If it had all been in one POV, or at least stuck to a couple characters switching back and forth, it would have had 5. The random chapters of other POVs just didn't make sense to me.

Overall, it was a great book and I am looking forward to the movie. Hopefully it lives up to the book.
It's definitely something I hope everyone reads.

idk if i was just in a different headspace when i first read this or i was too young/naive, but something about a caregiver falling in love with her patient doesn’t sit as well with me now. i was going to follow up with the series but i really don’t see a point in it now.

“You only get one life. It's actually your duty to live it as fully as possible.”

Friends. Did I know what I was getting myself into? I did. Was I in any way prepared for it? I was not.

Somehow reading this book was so much worse than watching the movie? And I mean that in an emotional way. I felt all of Lou's emotions and I felt the turmoil in her mind - I honestly can't wait to get my hands on the next one in the series.

There are so many good quotes in this book that just pop into my head everyday, and they are such good quotes to live by. It really made me start to analyze my own life and it made me want to romanticize it more and venture out of my own personal safe bubble.

That being said, I loved Louisa's energy. I loved Will's attentiveness. I loved Lou's family (except for sometimes her sister), and I loved the entire dynamic of it all. Definitely one of my trophy shelf books!

“Push yourself. Don't Settle. Just live well. Just LIVE.”
Love,
Will

This is a transformative book. Not only does it describe how the two main characters impact each others' lives (in beautiful writing, by the way), it will undoubtedly change the way you think about what it means to really live. A tearjerker, but totally worth it.

I found this book an insight on those who have different forms of paralysis and how they choose to deal with it and I love the way how it wasn't romance and that it was about trying to get people to change and I really loved the amount of effort Lou went through to try and change Will's mind.

A little predictable but an unforgettable set of characters and just a wonderful story. Also absolutely heartbreaking. Would not recommend finishing this one on the bus.

Such an incredible story! But I can't stop sobbing now. I wish I had never met Will. But I also wouldn't trade it for the world. His story has changed my outlook on life.
