I don’t usually cry when I read books. I did with this one. Very well written but very dark and emotional.

I would’ve loved to read this book if Mags, the detective’s wife, had been the lead detective on the case. Overall, an okay mystery that had me rolling my eyes at the mustache-twirling villain at the end of it all.

I almost gave up on it as the first few chapters were slow. It picked up after that. The first twist was something I did not see coming and was impressed how clever it was. While the complete ending was a little far-fetched it held my interest all the way through.

Holy! The plot twist(s). The authentic writing. Plus Part 1 and Part 2 are so different! I was so caught up with the intensity of the plot, the twists, the characters, the language that I did not want to stop reading.
I may need to reread this one, just to see if it’s that good or did I just miss the obvious clues? I strongly believe it’s that good.
