If I could give this book more than 5 Stars I’ll gladly do it. I love second chance romances and this one thus far has been the best one that I’ve read. No drama and no overbearing exes; just two ex lovers trying to put the past behind them.

Demi and Paxton were sleep buddies to put it lightly in college. She always wanted more and him being the potential top draft in the NFL never wanted to put a label on what they had. He was very immature at the time and did stupid college boys things. But underneath all his ego he had a soft spot for Demi. She was head over heels.

Fast forward 8 years and they ran into each other again but both of them are completely different. Her heart has steel walls and he is no where close to being the guy in college. She’s successful in her business and he’s a millionaire top NFL player. When he sees her he realizes she’s the one that got away. Demi gave him an extremely hard time and it wasn’t a walk in the park for Paxton.

His wooing had no limits and he did the cutest things. When Demi started letting him in painfully slow he was a gentleman about it. He apologized every minute of how he treated her in college. He was so respectful of her and admired her work. What I loved about him was that she was a popular successful CEO and he was so damn proud and never intimidated by her success. Don’t get me wrong the things he did in college will leave you like wow but the new Paxton is freaking adorable.

Demi in college was a bit of a pleaser but the new Demi was badass. She was independent and didn’t let anyone in. When she finally decided to breakdown her walls little by little you’ll feel her pain and hurt that she held in for several years. But she loved Paxton and when she overcame her insecurities they were a powerhouse. Their relationship will have your heart swooning from chapter to chapter. Her flashbacks in college was wow but glad that she gave him another chance.

These two by far have been my favorite couple out of all the books that I’ve read by this author. It was a beautiful emotional love story with absolutely no drama and just showing how these two overcame so many to find each other again and give love a second chance. I loved it!!!!!

Four and a half stars!

I absolutely loved Paxton and Demi. I didn't like how he treated her in college and when they first met back up later her words broke my heart for her and how she felt back then. But then she gave him another chance and he made it up to her. The perfect second chance romance!

Blonde hair blue eyed abusive narcissist. Weak female, not enough groveling and some scenes on how he treated her literally was like ewh. A good book but still not something id ever read again

- I think the guy should have groveled more
- there were some cute scenes that made me smile
- I felt bad for the fmc during the past scenes but it was also low-key her fault for always going back

They didnt need the ‘second chance’ trope. They could’ve met through her organization, and a part of me feels like this book is conveying a bad message for other females by showing them it’s okay to stay hung up on a man. Minus this flaw the love story was sweet but still not great.

A quick read. I enjoyed it I think? Read like a fanfic which is good. I didn't really enjoy the premise of her being so in love with him in college and him just using her as a hookup. Like where were her friends tell her he's just a fuck boy. I felt there was not enough build-up to win her trust back, she is just all heart eyes drop anything for him. I found the plot to be very surface-level.
