DNF by page 56. A great example of characters the author clearly thinks are witty and everyone else thinks should be keelhauled. "Mater" was doing bad things to my blood pressure.

This one had a big gross-out factor - the complications with what happened to the body after death were extremely complex. It was not the actions of a sane man.

Decent book, but a rather confusing solution. I'd forgotten it was book 2, Mrs. Bradley is definitely not herself yet!

Second in this Mrs. Bradley series and the victim is the disliked owner if Manor House. There is no shortage of suspects and scandal and Mrs. Bradley is able to sort it out in due time.

‘“Beware of the fact that will not fit,” proclaimed Mrs Bradley, more calmly’

I’m still so surprised that it took me till very recently to pick up my first Gladys Mitchell and was introduced to the wonderful Mrs Bradley, another golden age busy body old lady amateur detective just like the superb Miss Marple

My first Mrs. Bradley. I'll try another in the series, though I like the Masterpiece Mystery version a little more.
