The book is a beautiful celebration of diversity mixed with fantasy. While only a YA book, it mirrors the injustice occurring around the world against marginalized groups. The hatred of the oppressors was all too familiar, and I recommend to anyone who wants to know more about the feelings created through injustice and hatred, about the fear that ultimately gives others justification for unneeded violence because of differences, to pick up this book.

i had very low expectations for this book, and the book surpassed all of them. it had me hooked from the very first chp, i could barely put it down. its been a while since i've read ya fantasy books, and i now remember why i love this genre so much. its like the perfect blend of fantasy, mystery, romance, action and heartbreak (special emphasis on romance. im a sucker for romance.
Spoilermy heart is hurting for inan and zelie, especially towards all the events in the end.
) i honestly can't think of something i didnt enjoy in this book

I put it down for a week and barely thought about it except guilt for not finishing. And what that tells me is that I am not the right reader for this book.

1st Read - April 2020: Physical copy + Audiobook
Oh, I'm speechless. Listening to the audiobook as well as reading the physical copy helped me a lot with the pronunciation of different sentences and words.

Except from a few ... half-baked romances ... I really enjoyed reading about the world of OrĂ¯sha! If I had the second book, I would have picked it up right away!
