This entire series is like Left Behind meets Tom Clancy. Subjectively, it seems like it's not quite as well written as Clancy, however, gratefully, there's no profanity to filter out.

Final chapter of the Last Jihad series and probably the most intense of all. Read it but read the other 4 first.

It was always going to end this way. In a story about the biblical End Times, the rapture was always going to be the final act.
But the beginning first. Wow does Rosenberg know how to start a book. The aerial assault of Last Jihad, the beginning of the Gaza Strip battle in The Last Days... as intense and unrelenting as they are, they pale in comparison to the devastation that occurs within the first few chapters of this one. Watching the various players react to the near-utter decimation of the US government is fascinating, although entire books could be written describing the rescue efforts/survival of the lower classes, as opposed to those who have agents to protect them and nuclear bunkers to shelter them (although both of these are not infallible).
Indeed, everything that follows leaves you wanting more, as Rosenberg layers on tragedy after tragedy coupled with political intrude and the imminent threat of war. But then it ends (the only way it could) and you want to hear more. You want to see how it all plays out, and how everyone reacts to the final acts of people involved.
A fascinating read, and a great finale to The Last Jihad series. You're left wanting more (and maybe just a bit more would have been good) and you're given some wonderful emotional highs and lows of all the characters.
