Beautiful illustrations, beautifully written. I adore the story of Frankenstein, so to read something that shows how this spectacular scary story came to be in such a captivating and simplistic way is brilliant. Overall, it’s a fascinating book with the most incredible, detailed images to accompany the text. Definitely recommend. A more detailed review will follow over on my blog.

“At the center of it all was Mary Shelley. She was only eighteen and she wrote Frankenstein”

This was very, very good. The art is phenomenal, and the author's note is excellent for readers of all ages.
The only critique: the text glosses over the period of time Mary wrote and published "Frankenstein," which is arguably the most commonly taught and talked about portion of the book's history. I sense this was done in order to focus more heavily on Mary's childhood and life leading up to the story (or maybe to meet page count), which is fine. This is still a great primer on one of English literature/history's most important women. I enjoyed every second of it.
