Honestly after the third book I was super excited to get back to the main story but was also worried it wouldn’t be as good as the third book ended up being. Mind you I didn’t even really want to read the third book in general because I wanted to go back to where we left off in the beginning. I’ve started this series when I was 18 and picked it back up now when I’m 26 and I’m really glad I did! The book is so engaging and easy to read but also complex and 100% mind boggling. The world and universes are so complex I often times lose track of what’s real and simulation. I’m hooked and ready to continue the ride of this series and where and how it ends up finishing.

The ending was fine, up until the epilogue, but whatev. The main up-side to this entire series is the mental exercise of thinking about reality as a sophisticated computer simulation and what that implies for the relationship between people and a god or gods, and the scope of what a god can and cannot do, and to what extent it is possible for people to understand their universe.

So I skipped the third book. Half of me regrets doing that. The other half is glad that I've "finished" the series. Since I haven't read Interlude yet, there are some parts of this book that I don't fully understand. So this review wouldn't be completely honest until I read all four, possibly twice.
So...I shall return. Hopefully with a better understanding of the entire series.

Is there going to be another book? I thought "Timeless" would clear up some of the lose ends but it didn't. I loved the series as a whole, but I'm left with what feels like too many questions.
Maybe I missed the answers to some of these questions along the way. Can anyone help clear any of this up?
Why did Carl imply people were tricked into being stuck in the games?
What was the big deal with the number 30?
Who was the old man that wore garbage bags, and why was he there?
Who are the actual enemies of the General? Why were they enemies? What did they want?
At the beginning of the first book, Angelica interviewed Zach/Trew and threatened him. Why did she do that, and why did she say something about Brandon having "pets?"
