It was a mix of Neil Gaiman and the Night Circus. It's like the POV of Marco's teacher. Dark but beautiful and very very English. 10 out of 10 would read again. I will read the sequels.

Very enjoyable vacation read. The humour felt very Douglas Adamsy, especially at the started. Enjoyed the back and forth between the hilarious and the very dark and depressing.

Loved it! Cabal is completely pretentious, but he makes for a fun and quirky read.
