Alright, this book played with my emotions in the most disrespectful of ways. I also didn’t appreciate the fact that it caused a lot of my religious trauma, that I had spent years blocking out of my memory, to resurface but you know what? It’s fine. I’m fine.
God damn (literally) this was fantastic. The writing was beautiful and captivating. At no point in this book did I find myself bored (which is something I usually experience at least once during a story) and each time I went to the next page, I had absolutely no idea what to expect (in the best way possible).
I loved being able to see a different side of Lucifer than the one I’m often used to being presented in media. Being able to see him from creation all the way to his fall from Heaven was a journey I won’t easily forget. There was one part that I wasn’t entirely in love with but that was soon overshadowed by the remainder of the story. For now it’s getting 4.5 stars but that could easily change (for the better) in a few days. I think I’m still trying to process everything.

The author is really good explaining everything, his narration about Heaven, the paradise, Eden and finally how Lucifer and the rebel angels destroy Heaven seems so accurate that I was trapted in the narration and didn't wanted to leave the book aside.
If you can handle a molestation between lines and how the character feels about it, then I recommend the story, because it felt correct in Part I and then, in Part II, you see the disaster happening step by step and you wonder who is correct and who is not.
The part I is amazingly warm to the heart, I fell for Lucifer's character because he was pure, and I knew all along what was suppossed to happen; the fall of the rebel angels, but I didn't expected that to be so explicit and I was nervous as I read because I felt the urge to finish the book finally but I couldn't because is slow to tell you everything you'll need (is good, don't worry).
I wished Lucifer to be with Michael, but it was just something that didn't happened and it wasn't a surprise either, because if I'm not wrong, in the Bible, Michael is the angel that overpowers Lucifer and sends him to Hell. But I can't said I didn't had hope.
Even though, I want to read a fanfic where they both are together, because their pure relationship as angels, before the fall, was so wholesome to me that I need some view of centuries ahead, how they would meet somewhere and slowly understand each other, see if they can be together as before even when Lucifer is no longer the angel of beauty and worship but is Satan instead and Michael stays at God's side, worshiping him and the humans.
Conclusion: I enjoyed the story, is not for everyone because this all is considered blasphemy (I think), and it contains heavy topics, but the pure love between two different angels and see how they fell for each other was worth it to me.

This is everything the description says it is
Unfortunately for me I could not get behind the writing style of the second half the story to really love this book. The writing is generally beautiful, however in the second half a lot of it becomes much stream of consciousness that I personally couldn’t really follow and I found myself skipping over these parts to get to the actual speaking/action parts.
The actual plot and themes in this are so freaking interesting and I really enjoy what the author was doing but I didn’t really connect with any of the characters.
HOWEVER if you are interested in reading this book I say definitely still give this a go.

Full disclosure: I was provided an ARC by the author.
I really really enjoyed this one. At times slow, at times fast, but it never felt like it dragged on or the pacing was off. The book takes you through the story at the pace it needs to and draws you in. The cast was wonderful and dynamic, the conflict was believable. The tragic story at the heart of it was really captivating.
Mind the trigger warnings but if you can stomach the tragedy of it all, definitely pick this one up.
