I didn't love this....it started out promisingly--each of the three narrators is exploring/living/working in the same mansion decades apart and there's some thruline about a Sir Galahad mural. I loved how the authors grounded the story in that place and we saw it through three different eyes.

I didn't end up loving the mystery or the characters, though. I don't know if it's because I was grabbing a page or two at a time, sometimes reading until I couldn't keep my eyes open another minute late at night, but I never really figured out the family trees and didn't really care how things unraveled here. I found it hard to follow, which surprised me as I just read the second Team W novel and found it easy enough and enjoyable... However, I did the other book on audio in hour long chunks so maybe that's the trick.

Anyway. So the mansion and the paintings were cool and everything. But meh to the rest of it.

I liked the book but it just had a bit of a sad theme thru it with everyone settling. I know it happened way back when, but still.

Really enjoyed this layered story of three generations of women and the loves of their lives. Definitely makes you think about destiny and the potentially deeper reasons why you're drawn to who you love. Wonderful book!

After Along the Infinite Sea, I went into this book with lower expectations because I didn't want to risk being let down. This book did not disappoint. It was BEAUTIFUL. The level of thought that had to go into this story to make it happen is incredible. I'm not familiar with the other two authors, but I'm going to have to check out their work. It was captivating, heartbreaking, and inspiring all at once.

I love when this trio of authors comes together. Fans of the Gilded Age will love this one.

Really interesting premise by some of my favorite authors. I was sad when the book was over but happy with the story.

Fabulous Read!

I’m typically not a huge historical fiction fan but this story was told over multiple generations and had many twists and turns regarding who was connected to whom. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s amazing to me that three authors wrote it. The styles were like it was written by the same person.

I enjoyed this.  Though at first I got a little confused with who was who in the three timelines, but buy the end it is all sorted out and clear.  A fun mystery unravels and all the dots are connected.
