I wanted to like this book more than I actually did. I felt that it struggled with the heavier topics it tried to tackle and that made the romance less believable as well.
Moderate: Sexual assault and Sexual harassment
Minor: Sexual content

Quick Christmas read! Not my favorite holiday rom com, but it was fine overall.

This is one Christmas romance that made me go "bah humbug!" It was painful to read. Max is actively unlikeable as a romance lead. Sadie was fine, no complaints. Everyone else was one-dimensional. I also do not want to read romance novels with sexual harassment plotlines anymore. It's something that really happens and is awful but it takes me out of the romance world into bummer land. When it wraps up with "and no one worked with him in the industry ever again," it just seems actively unrealistic. Louis C.K.? Chris Brown? James Franco? Yeah, they're really struggling for work. Not festive, not fun, not good.

If you like romances featuring musicians, reality shows, warm and cozy Christmas holiday romances then this book is going to be right up your alley. Knox delivers a swoony and steamy fake-dating romance with complex characters learning to deal with their own issues before they can fully be with each other. And can I say that Max’s dog, Patsy Canine (best spin on a dog name ever), steals every scene she’s in. So get your cuddliest blanket and hot cocoa ready, this book is going to make your holiday dreams come true.

Unoriginal, could’ve been a story stripped from the headlines. Reality Show, Me Too, Taylor Swift battle…blah.

This one read like a Hallmark movie. I could see it playing out in my head. The characters were great, I easily switched between rooting for them and wanting to smack them, which is something I enjoy as a reader. Looking forward to seeing this in the Hallmark lineup one day!

A bit twee and very formulaic but enjoyable for what it is: popcorn. Sometimes you need to read something light and fluffy. At times the cycle of the story got irritating - TALK TO EACH OTHER but the end had some surprises.
