Big question: why introduce Elise in the first book and keep her out of the other three? Couldn't the series have been written with Elise all the way through?

Big problem:
SpoilerCass decides she's going to change the course of history before she even jumps? That's predictable to the point of cliché. In fact, she's already discovered that changing things isn't going to be as easy as she thinks, and chances are the story is headed toward "major disaster that requires protag's ass to be saved".
I ordinarily wouldn't rate a book so low this soon out of the gate and still want to continue reading, but the predictability is a big hit to the score.

Smaller problems:

- "Mum"? Did Chandler settle in the UK after the evacuation? It just seems so out of place for a series that has thus far used the American idiom.

- Who uses a fancy-ass word like "annunciate" in an NA book? If she's making an announcement, just say so!

At the End:
SpoilerGood grief, did Cass's peril even last all of ten minutes? A half hour, tops, between the time she threw shit and the time she finished talking to the butler? That was terrible!
