These short pieces blend both soothing elements with intriguing sci-fi "what-ifs" that lend the entire collection a sense of hope, even with the occasional bit of violence or fluttering ending. I just want more.

The first two stories aren't developed enough and make wanting to continue to read difficult. The last few stories are really good though. There are also some typos in the book that drove me nuts.

Like with any collection of short stories, some speak to you more than others and the contrasting styles mean that even if you don’t enjoy one, you aren’t far away from another. I found the stories to all be quite different, which was nice and there is a long introduction, which gives you some background history before settling in to the stories.

I found that some of these stories were really powerful and stuck with me. To be Indigenous and to be queer is a gift.

This anthology was breathtaking, heartbreakingly beautiful, and everyone should pick it up.

As with most anthologies, I find it hard to give an overall rating. There were some stories that really stood out (Darcie Little Badger’s and David Robertson’s were favorites), and there were others I didn’t even finish. I definitely recommend reading this just because it’s such a unique collection of stories—where else have you seen so many LGBTQ+ sci-fi stories by Indigenous authors in one place?
