UGH. I listened to two thirds of this book on 1.25x speed and that was just as well because it shortened the time I had to endure the story.

It was very, very drawn out. And for the last (sped up) hour I sort of just wanted everyone to die? Idk, I was just not invested in this story. Usually, in my experience, the second part of the second book is the weakest in a trilogy. In this trilogy, I liked the second half of the second book best. So. Yeah.

Sort of disappointed with the ending as well?

It was a pleasure to read a series end I didn't hate.

A great ending to the trilogy! Ruins was packed with action and I thought it was just as good as Partials. I really liked that Kira learned her destiny wasn't some fixed thing, but hers to make what she wanted. I also liked that the solution to everything was so simple, yet so difficult.
Spoiler And if you really think about it, isn't love for others the solution to most things?

It would’ve been a perfect ending except for the forced love triangle in the last 20%

Gotta love him.

I enjoyed this book more than the second. The character development was much better. I thought it ended kind of abruptly though. Marcus as always was my favourite. The book really needed his humor as it got a bit depressing sometimes.

Overall I think this was a really good series. It's interesting to see how the author discusses serious ideas of life, war and free will with young adults.
