The ending seriously KICKED ASS but the three hundred pages of filler left me kinda bored

I may or may not write a review if I ever decide to reread the series.

Just let me have my core three back
Spoiler I mean I kid you not, I hate Rowan with a fury because aahhhh. There would be a rant, but I'm too lazy. Also, the amount of Dorian we got was too little. And also Chaol. I don't want Empire of Storms, because he isn't in it

The last 25% percent is a star alone.

This series is DENSE and not in world building but character building and relationships and just...cool. I like it, also it takes soooo long to get to that "point." I will admit like, when it hits that point it hits HARD and it's satisfying but damn the first 75% of this book was like...cool also like, when do the good bits happen???

But is all that build up good? It's so hit and miss. You can tell Maas has grown as a writer and story teller after so many books, but is still learning.

Interested to see how the next three books show her evolving skills.

Starting off 2022 with my yearly reread of the TOG series.

This is potentially my favorite book of the series? But it's also highly possible that I say that about multiple books in this series...

Highlights:
-My mind lives on Page 233. I think about it all the time, and it is just as satisfying every reread.
-I extra love the pacing and perspective shifts on this one.
-Sweet, strong Evangeline.
