Infuriating with one of the most disappointing endings I've ever read in a book. We are constantly told what a genius the mc is but all we are shown is him being a complete idiot.
The misogyny is this book is so gross, especially the pedo way an underage girls is described, having men about three times her age pining after her (this is not at all condemned by the narration, in fact it seems to be some weird sort of fetish/wish fulfillment by the author)
I am shocked that the author is a women, nevertheless I wouldn't be surprised that she chose the time period for her book just so she can write disgusting sexism without it being questioned as it's just "part of the time"
