This genuinely is a good book, it just did not work perfectly for me. The prose is lovely but it does include a lot of intense scenes so PLEASE BE AWARE OF CONTENT WARNINGS!
The thing that threw me off the most was how obsessed this female author is with the concept of breasts. It felt almost straight-male-author, but with just a touch more respect.
