The ending really solidified the 4⭐️ for me! I cried and had goosebumps multiple times! I think everyone should read this at least once in their life.

The themes in this MASTERPIECE of a book are so important for everyone at any stage of life to read and to be reminded.

•What will be, will be. No need to fret over things that are yet to happen. It is all planned out already and no amount of worrying will change God’s future plans.

•Your life and actions matter. It is interconnected with everyone else’s in some way.

•It’s not the length of your life that matters, instead it’s what you do with your time on Earth that causes the most difference.

I liked how reflective the book was. The focus on the people and their relationships was the right call for a book with this theme. One might argue that not much happened or that there wasn't enough description of how it affected the world but I feel like the book struck the right balance between personal story and showing political implications.
Overall I was really invested in the characters' fates and I will think about this books for a long time for sure.

Okay book - would have been GREAT as a book club book , but I wouldn’t personally recommend it as an independent read. It sparked interesting conversations, but the plot got a little monotonous. The back 1/4 of the book was better because the characters became interwoven with one another and their stories/histories were shared more with the reader, but it otherwise felt a bit repetitive.
