Infinitely more grabbing than book 1. I’m finally loving the characters and wanting to defend them with my life. This book was PACKED FULL of action and similarly to book 1 it ends on what I would call a cliffhanger. This book kept me on my toes - every time I thought I understood a problem or foresaw a solution, 2-3 new problems popped up. and while I loved that about it, it also sometimes felt like “oh now what convenient ancient history explains something I could have never seen coming?”

I wasn’t expecting to be so passionately invested in this book and with all the action, I absolutely see myself rereading this series at some point, and I bet I’ll catch more details than I did on my first read through.

Really looking forward to meeting this author at Apollycon 2025!

Hard to decide how to rate this one for me. There were some parts I really enjoyed but some aspects that I didn’t like (the back and forth between the main characters). I know most people like the tension but it tends to take away from the storyline for me in most cases because I get too wrapped up in the emotions and lose sight of everything else.

Honestly I’m so in love with this series and the sequel did not disappoint!!! I absolutely loved the non stop action.

The sequel starts directly after the first book with Meren in the clutches of the king but we all know her shadow wraith will save her. I was sooo impressed with the intensity of the plot and the character developments. Meren goes through so much and by the end of the book I was literally tearing up when she realized her worth.

The dialogue is so funny and immaculate I was laughing and crying with them. I’m so glad I kept up with the series. The story has me stuck and I never want to leave Aryd or these characters. I’m so sad I have to wait till next year for the next one
