This volume’s missions are all really one big storyline. It felt like reading what might one day be the first movie of Spy x Family. The action and characterizations just flow so wonderfully and the action is nonstop for most of the book. The last main mission part even feels like an epilogue. The short missions in the end are extra but they do feel connected still as the dynamics in them are a direct result of the main arcs. Altogether this is an absolutely amazing volume. This series has very quickly become one of my absolute favorite ongoing reads. Tatsuya Endo is firing on all cylinders in this volume and It just keeps getting better.
Moderate: Animal cruelty, Bullying, Confinement, Gore, Gun violence, Misogyny, Sexism, Violence, Blood, Kidnapping, Stalking, and Car accident
While there’s no mass shooting, the plot does hinge on terrorist action. The misogyny & sexism in this volume comes from villains and from a character that’s a social misfit. The potential animal cruelty is a specific aspect of the plot as well that someone might want to be weary of. There’s nothing in the main plot of this volume that’s narrative fat.
