A Princess in Theory is a fun story, with some pretty dense complications both for Naledi and Thabiso. I loved that Ledi was a scientist, and also the way she guarded her heart - from everyone. Thabiso was such a romantic, and while the way he went about winning Ledi wasn't the best, his heart was definitely in it.

I would have given five stars if it hadn't been for the fact that in the beginning of the story, there's a Swiss chef, Yves. And when he swore out loud, he did so in Swedish. I know there are people that mix up Switzerland and Sweden, but it really took me out of the story in a big way. So yeah, in Sweden, people speak Swedish, in Switzerland, there are four national languages, and none of them is Swedish.

This book has romance, humor, steam, STEM, and a dash of fairytale magic. I can’t wait to read more books by Alyssa Cole! This book turned me from “sometimes I read romance” to “OMG I will read ALL the romance, as long as it has an independent and layered main character AND lovely examples of sexy consent!”

I had a really hard time getting into this book. I found Thabiso incredibly annoying for the first half of the book, though I liked the other characters. By the last 1/3 I was getting into the story more, but the ending felt very abrupt and I wish more time was spent with it.

A fantastic book. I don't know how much this book benefitted from being read after a few books I didn't enjoy as well. The characters are well realized and interesting with just the right amount of tension in their relationship. The story also has elements from other genres that help spice up the story and their relationship.

While I’m sick and tired of the “Coming To America” storyline— I think it is now played out and downright annoying— this author had a way of keeping my interest till the end.
I’ll recommend if you are not fed up of the African prince coming to America to find his princess storyline.
For now, I’m done with that plot.
Can’t read any more of that kind of storyline 😩😩😩
Great writer.
My first book by this author
I’ll read another book by her.

This starts off with complete disregard for "show, don't tell" principles and couldn't sustain my interest in the face of my tbr pile.
