This book is really old so take everything i say with a grain of salt.
this book REEKS of blatant misogyny and general stigma around sex workers, especially females.
I hated this with every fibre of my being but can understand why some people like it (you know if you look over all the very problematic things in this book.)

Maupassant is a true genius when it comes to the short story form. His writing beautiful as always, his characters well developed and rounded, his control over timing and pacing is second to none. Boule de Suif was not a disappointment in the slightest. If you ever endeavour to read the short stories of Maupassant, I would recommend it.
