I'm rather surprised people are so stupid they don't realize every single one of their "heroes" are the ones kidnapping their kids in the first place.

2018 review:
These kinds of situations, as the one in the book, make me very uneasy and uncomfortable. It always feels like a giant miscommunication, and people acting on impulses rather than rational thinking. In that sense, it is very realistic with how I see our own society. Poor Zuko.
