2.5 Stars.

I did not love this; I found both the characters and the plot to be quite flat, and not very cohesive, so it was kind of a dull, push-through-to-the-end read for me. Not sure whether or not I'll continue the series...

boring, predictable, and I hated the parentification of the couple.

This is a tough one because I had a huge problem with the narrator. He was boring and didn't bring the book to life as other narrators do.

The story itself was ok. I liked the characters and the concept of a team of investigators debunking ghost stories but also being true believers. The ending was predictable and some of the dialogue was laughable and I found myself rolling my eyes at some scenes. But I will give the next one a chance since I heard the series gets better.

This was the first I’ve read by Heather Graham. It was decent; the mystery was a lot busier and full of more twists and turns than I expected. I feel like the trope of a ghost hunting crew is a little overdone but I enjoyed the fact that not everyone paired up despite the crew (or “krewe”) somehow being magically 3 men and 3 women (cue eyerolling).

I really enjoyed this one and can't wait to dig into the series. The audiobook was beautifully produced. I felt like I was listening to a radio drama. I must give Heather Graham serious props for the respect she has shown to each religion mentioned, but particularly also to the culture of New Orleans. I felt like I was right there in the French Quarter along side the krewe
