It's a romance with a twist, Groundhog type style whereby Emma relives the 3rd December the anniversary of the day she meets her husband Dan. They write letters to each other, reflecting on the last year. Dan's letters reveal things that happened over previous years. Emma is stressed with workload spilling into family time, keeping it together for her 2 children, their various activities, and never having a moment to herself. It is very relatable, and whilst the same day is repetitive, there is enough difference and gradually reveals as to what is happening with her children's lives, her work and it allowed me reflection as to what is most important in life. Here's a clue: it's not work. I enjoyed it and loved the ending, which was not what I was expecting.

Whilst I've read the Groundhog day trope a few times now and it's always got that same element running through it, the last 75 pages did surprise me and make me bring my rating to a 3.5🌟 - I did get a bit emotional. Good reminder of what life is about x

I thought I would love this book. It's supposed to be a mix of One Day (my favourite book) and Groundhog Day (my rainy day movie choice).

The idea was there, but the story was not.

Reading this book felt like work.

This was the first romance novel I've read. Sometimes you have to unleash your inner mom and read a book by a mom for moms.

I'm about as far from a mom as you can get but despite that, Cesca Major pulled me in with her writing in a way that I wasn't expecting.

The time loop conceit combined with the story being told interspersed with the love letters sent from the husband to his wife (the main character) over the course of their relationship as well as the text messages flooding the her phone was great.

Cesca Major is clearly a master at her craft and I might be willing to read more of her work and work like it.

If I would have one complaint, it would be that certain characters feel paper thin. I'm thinking specifically of the right wing anti work popular but waning author. It felt a little gauche, like a moustache twirling villain.
