This was such a sweet, wonderful read full of the feels. Wow, it really packed a lot in a shorter book. I loved both MCs right of the bat! It was interesting how it began and I just really liked reading how Weber Cyrus met and how it progressed from there. It felt honest and real, and just perfect. Their relationship is one that will be shipped by me for a long, long time. The family aspect with Cyrus' sister and kids was just the icing on the cake and how much Cy's parents and really whole family and everyone else it would seem loved Weber, and I loved that aspect as well. K.C. Kelly did this narration, and I thought it was really well done!

Again, I can only reiterate that it’s been way too long since I originally read this book. Seeing as I’ve reread a number of Mary’s older works in the past week I can really see the similarities between characters like Stefan, Weber, Nathan, and Trevan.

Weber and Cyrus are definitely two favorites and now I’ll have to reread the graphic novel.

Oh Mary Calmes, where in the world did Weber Yates come from? Can you please create a factory to start making clones of that sweetheart of a ginger cowboy? That man is pure gold.

This book! THIS.BOOK. Oh Em Gee! I think I was either swooning or being frustrated through the whole thing and I would do it all over again. The love between Cyrus and Weber, Cy and Web, Doc and Cowboy...Oh Em Gee! They are so so so in love! From that first meeting and that first kiss. THAT. FIRST. KISS. Who the hell gives you scenes like that in the first chapter? Goodness me! Those scenes could make a reader hornier than a ten peckered owl, ya know? Do you know? If you don't you should.

I am such an emotional reader and after some heavier reads I needed to just read about love and boy did I ever. This love story was gorgeous. I loved how it was told, how we got the now and went to the past and then back again. I loved that phone call, that reunion and the meeting of children. Oh Em. Gee! Seriously? How many times can Web just melt your heart in a single story? Everything this man did whether with intent or by instinct was swoon worthy. I would have been hugging him along with Cy's family just the same. I wanted to hug him so tight and tell him to just let go, let people love you. Let them take care of you and you do it right back. Ugh. Web's speech to Carolyn about a man and kids and his thoughts on what make's a man? Good Lord, those were amazing!

Cyrus, oh goodness. All he wants is this big strapping cowboy who brings out a side in him that no one else does. Someone who gets him like no one else does...isn't that what we all want? Someone who know us, who brings out the best in us without even trying? Ugh. Am I gushing yet? I feel the gush, the love, the hopeless romantic Sara dripping from my pores. This book was so good. Oh. Em. Gee!

This was my first Calmes book and I can tell you it won't be my last. I am happy I did not have to kiss a dozen frogs to fall in love with her writing. It's wonderful. It's fluffy...I LURVE fluffy. It's romantic. It's downright fucking sexy and it is lovely.

So yes, Jenni Lea...I did love it!

My 50/50 debate with Ms. Calmes continues. It really is an every other book relationship for me. Weber and Cy were wonderful! This story falls firmly into the love it category. I’d been nervous to read this one since so many people rave about it and Ms. Calmes is so hit or miss for me. I was not disappointed. This is one time where the story lives up to the hype.

Weber Yates is a cowboy. Riding bulls and a transient life style is all he’s known for more than twenty years. He lost his family at a young age and since then hasn’t’ allowed anyone close. Meeting Cy when he was working a job at a dude ranch one summer was a good surprise. The connection between them was instantaneous even if Weber knew they could never have a future together.

Cyrus Benning fell for Weber three years earlier during that very first meeting. All he’s ever wanted was for Web to stay. His job as a neurosurgeon keeps him tied to San Francisco. Weber’s been in and out of Cy’s life, stopping for brief periods when the rodeo brought him through. But Cy thought the last time might have been the end. His ultimatum didn’t go over well. Until his phone rang with Weber on the other end Cy was sure he’d lost the only man he’d ever love.

I definitely get it now. The connection between these two men is just so strong and you ache for them to figure out how to be together. Weber’s pride makes that so difficult. The insecurities in his soul are so blatant and yet Cy’s love is just so clearly there and welcoming as well. My heart ached for these two from the first phone call. There was so much history and want there. I just wanted to shake Web and scream at him, “this man loves you, don’t let him get away!” Yet in the end I respected Web’s pride so much too. I understood why he didn’t think he could have Cy even as I yearned for him to realize there are other solutions.

So kids…yeah they can be obnoxious, but Web was just so dang sweet with all those rugrats. They all just made me smile with their reactions to the big tough softie of a cowboy. Sure it’s a little farfetched and instantaneous adoration, but I’ve come to accept those sorts of over the top reactions from Ms. Calmes characters. Her hero’s always seem to inspire immediate feelings of a sort in the other surrounding characters. Here it was just too cute. Actually with children I find it much more easy to believe than when it’s every other adult fawning all over the hero. I accepted the adult’s love of Weber in this story easier as well because their reactions came because of the change in the man they knew and loved. Cy’s family wasn’t used to seeing him so relaxed and free, neither were his colleagues and friends. Weber’s influence on him was clear and distinct, Cy was a different person with Web around and thus it made sense for everyone to take to him quickly.

But the real heart of this story is how deep the connection between these two men goes. They may have only spent limited time together, but you just knew that no matter what happened when they were apart all the other really wanted was to be with the man he’d left behind. Cy was going to wait for eternity if that was what it took for Web to finally settle down and return to him. And I couldn’t wait for Web to realize that Cy didn’t need to be kissing any more frogs. He’d found his prince ages ago and was just waiting for the transformation to be complete and the frog to realize he wasn’t a frog any longer. Web is just such a good and caring soul. He’s the sort of man you wish you had in your life, sweet, caring, well mannered, and yet clearly a man.

After all that time I’m so glad to get the HEA here. This was sweet and sexy and a wonderful case of love triumphs over all. This one will go down in my favorites and books to re-read piles for ages to come. :D

THIS BOOK SOOTHES MY ACHING SOUL.

I'm officially into this Mary Calmes crack like everyone else. I mean. I can't :( I need her books like breathing. (Though personally, I still think Miro is the one for me lmao)
