This book wasn't the best Karen Rose that I have read but it was still interesting, though I feel it could have been a bit shorter without having a detrimental effect on the plot or characters. I didn't warm to either Grayson or Paige as much as some of the other Rose creations and if I'm honest their relationship was a bit predictable and boring.

As usual, Karen Rose kept me guessing with action and twists all the way to the end. Considering the length of the book this one only covers a week or so. There’s a lot of action and pacing is great. These books are heavy and this one is no different. It seemed like everyone of the main characters has had this horrible, tragic life. I just wanted one character that’s had at least an ok life.

I liked both Grayson and Paige; they’re both so loyal and considerate and honorable. Though their attraction is immediate, I still found myself believing in their feelings for each other and I was happy to see them together. They each have had hard lives and they deserve happiness.

I loved the Carter family and hope to see more of them in the future as well as more of Stevie. This book really made things rough on Stevie and I want to see her find someone to lean on after everything she’s been through. As a side note I found myself strangely captivated by Adele and Darrin’s story. After each time they appeared I wanted to come back to them. I don’t know what about them was so magnetic but I would have loved more about them.

I guess this isn’t a bad thing but the list of all those involved just kept getting bigger and bigger. I feel like each book Rose has written is trying to top the previous one and it’s resulting in these huge conspiracies. I still like them but I feel like I have to take some time before starting the next one.

Paige Holden moved to Baltimore to escape a personal tragedy . She works at a PI agency with Clay Maynard and takes a pro bono case where the family insists that the convicted murderer is innocent . Soon after the murderer's wife is shot in front of her but gives Paige evidence of her husband's innocence before her death.Paige decides to take to information to the State Attorneys office Grayson Smith who though suspicious decides to take another look at the evidence. But things start heating up when another attempt is made at Paige's life and somebody would do anything to stop the investigation.

This is a great romantic suspense book by Karen Rose.Lots of well developed characters and different storylines that come together at the end. An enjoyable read but maybe a few chapters too long

Wow this was a good one. I felt so involved and enthralled reading this. I loved how you didn't know who to believe and who not to, who was corrupt and who was straight. Greyson and Paige were an awesome team. Their backgrounds made them who they are and they fit perfectly for each other. This is my first of Rose's great work and it definitely won't be my last.

This was one of the better books in this series - both Paige and Greyson were smart and brave. They made a lot of sense together! The mystery was pretty elaborate and dark as per usual.
