While I appreciate the queer representation, I hated this book. I dnf'd at about half way because nothing had happened. They hadn't even gotten to the school yet!
I did not care at all about the modern girls. I only cared about Libbie and Alex. The only action we got was the scares that Audrey and Merritt had, and even that was fabricated. I hated how it started to go the way of the Blair Witch.
Just too slow with characters I couldn't care about. The premise is great but the execution is not.

Really wasn’t sure what to make of this book in the first few chapters - in fact I don’t think I really liked it, however at some point a switch was flicked on for me and I then just couldn’t put it down. I don’t usually like books with multiple timelines/POV’s either but it actually worked for me in this story as well. I was a little disappointed with the ending but I think this is one of those books that is more about the journey than the destination, so i’m still happy to give it 4 stars.

That was awesome. A lot of plot lines to follow, but so worth it- it was a queer, gothic, horror-comedy… all my favorite things. Couldn’t put it down
